Question Power Window Going Too Far Up

Looking for advice with the driver's side power window on a 2005 TL. The problem is the window is going up to the point it actually deforms the door. I can see the outside mirror move! Once I release the button it releases the pressure and the door returns to it's normal shape. It does this if I just hold the button on or if I use the auto up feature. What should be telling the motor to stop? Obviously I can release the button but that isn't really a solution and that doesn't help so much with the auto-up.

Thanks

You probably will have to try & reset the control unit for that window. page 22-228 of the service manual.

I found the procedure and went thru the steps. It's better but it still seems like the window is deforming the window felt when it gets to the top. Any other ideas?

I think you are talking about when it creates the seal. When the window goes all the way up, it does push out the door a little, this is due to the curve in the window and to help create the seal. thats my opinion on it, mine does kind of the same thing
