Possible clock solution... Will test and report back
Going through the 07-08 FSM, I found a section within the wiring schematics for the nav display panel. There is a red/yellow wire that supplies GPS clock sync signal to the nav unit. In the case of an open (cut) wire, FSM states the clock will default to 1:00 when Gps signal isn't found. Whole that's not really helpful, a subsequent reset of the nav unit may reenable the manual clock adjustment. There is also a nav display reset procedure that will reset the clock to 1:00 without pulling fuses or disconnecting battery.
Went to 1 by doing??? The button sequence or clipping that wire? It's supposed to go to 1 by default. It's just an alternative method to the "unhook battery/pull fuse at 12:58 and reconnect at 1" solution.

Wasn't the purpose or mentioning it. Lol. I know it resets at 1. I'm working on a long term viable solution and have contacted the company that writes the software. Just going to experiment with different things in the meantime.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the purpose of this procedure? A few sentences of background in the initial post would be very helpful. Are we trying to reset an inaccurate clock to show 1:00 at precisely 1:00 local time so the time is accurate for non updating and inaccurate clocks? Does the wire have to be cut in order for the time to not change back once the gps signal is received? Does cutting the wire affect the function of the navigation system? You mention resetting the system twice makes the clock adjustment buttons work again? Seems easy enough to try. How did you come to that conclusion? Does it work? Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to the topic and am trying to understand what you are trying to tell us. My 08 clock, and it appears that all 3rd gen clocks, may now be affected by issues so I applaud your efforts towards finding a workaround. Hopefully we find one.

Reset my recently incorrect 2008 clock to 1:00 at 1:00 local time today using this method. I know the item in question here is if snipping the red/yel wire and reset will unlock the manual controls, but just wanted to say thanks for posting the easy method of resetting the clock to 1:00. It is a good enough work around for me for now until something else comes along. Thanks!
