Please HELP: TLs hard up shifting and jerk when using Sport Sequential mode!

Hello
I have a 2008 Acura TL type s with 178,000 miles on the odometer. When shifting from park into any gear there is a delay than noticeable jerk in the trans that translates through the entirevehicle. The engine also jerks slightly forward or backwards depending on gear selection. But the more troubling issue to me is the harsh upshift to 3/4/5 gear during med- full throttle acceleration ( this problem is very present while using the Sports shift paddles and jerks the car harshly when upshifting) downshifting is semi smooth and not nearly as rough as it’s counterpart smh. In auto mode there is a present semi harsh downshift while coming to a stop but after researching past threads I have come to believe this to be normal on 3G TL’s. I have ordered x3 OEM pressure switches to be replaced and I’m obtaining 9 quarts of Honda DW-1 ATF from my local Honda dealership to complete the 3x3 semi trans fluid flush, The side/rear/front motor mounts and upper transmission mount will be purchased as soon as I am financially able.I have searched through many 3G TL transmission issue/resolution forums and have picked up different solutions which are prelisted above and will be embarking on tackling that maintenance. But have not found another user to have experienced this specific problem; if anyone can help me fix my car with recommended trans maintenance or further components I should be looking to replace to help solve this problem I would very thankful. Thank you for any help or advice given

sounds like you are on the right track! I would also recommend cleaning the shift solenoid screens that are under the battery tray area. Youtube has a few good videos on it! The TYPE-S does shift a little firmer than the base TL so you won't get super smooth shifts all the time, esp on downshifts.

-Thanks for ya feedback. Upshifts should be rather drama-less though am I correct? I will put cleaning the shift screens on my to-do-list. Are they relatively easy to remove or is removal to thouroughly clean not necessary.

Yes upshifts shouldn't be jarring/rough but you can def feel them. The mounts are more than likely causing a lot of your issues since the trans/drivetrain can flex so much.

Thank you for your help. I’ll get the mounts as soon as possible and come back to this thread with updates on what did what and what helped as I work
