Passenger side window doesnt go down

So my passenger side window stopped reacting to the open button. I still hear a faded click, but it stayes closed. The issue was intermittent at first, now its permanent.

What are the potential issues? Do i need a new window motor? or the whole mechanism? is it better to open it, inspect and then assess?

Thanks!
MM

window regulator is dead probably

of course it's the best solution to open and identify the root cause! Otherwise it's just throwing money at a potential non-problem.

My 2008 was like this during my entire ownership. Wonder what it was.

We shall see, MM

One thought: make sure the window lock switch is not on, and that the rear windows open and close before going further.

It started working today... since its an intermittent problem i suspect its a contact issue.

Will Y. - Yes good point, i did the check to confirm.

Has anyone encountered this and solved it? I'd hate to open the door panel and rebuild it without fixing the issue.

Thanks!

Opening the panel isn't too tough, I'd do it just to examine the problem. It could also be something like a frayed/loose wire in the loom that goes between the door and the frame so you'll have to troubleshoot yourself.
