Painting grill Questions...give me some pointers

Is there any way to remove the chrome Acura symbol in the grill so I can paint it separately and reinstall it later? It appears to be attached in the "heavy" part of the A but I can't get it to come loose and don't want to snap it. Your help is greatly appreciated

You have to remove the entire bumper/grille assembly, then unscrew the "A" alone.

Yup bumper has to be removed. I did mine last summer. painted the chrome trim around the grille and the piece on the hood NBP and the the rest of the grille pieces are a custom grayish blue that matches my wheels that I had painted. I hated all the bright silver trim on a black car, looks much better now.

Some ppl hace been able to use a stubby screwdriver and come up back behind the bumper to get to it but just make it easier on urself and remove the front bumper, it takes like 20 mins to do and saves u 30 mins of hassle and cursing.

Paint ur grill? have you tried vinyl wrapping it instead? it will last alot longer I vinyl wrapped mine and I love it

So no regrets blacking it out? I'm getting my whole front clip resprayed along with the grill blacked out and professionally painted so it will be a match.

I would say as long as they do a good job prepping the paint should hold and last, but y not just use vinyl, its cheaper than professional paint job

Myself, I'm getting the whole front clip resprayed anyways so it's not any additional $ or time for them to spray a few chrome trim pieces for me. Plus it will be a perfect match.

No regrets at all. Im very happy with it. It was professionally done. I work at a truck shop that also does body work so it didnt cost much, only supplies. blacking the grille gives it a more sleak aggressive look.
