P0453 - Evaporative Emissions Control System Pressure Sensor High Input

I cant seem to get rid of this code.

Things I tried.

Replaced fuel cap - no good
Replaced ftp sensor on evap canister - no good
Replaced evap purge valve - no good

Dont know what to do next. Already wasted 150$ on parts with no luck. Once I clear the code, it comes right back as soon as the car is started.

A P0453 code may be caused by one or more of the following:
  • Open on FTP sensor signal wire
  • Short to voltage on FTP sensor signal wire
  • Bad FTP sensor
  • Abnormally high pressure in fuel tank due to blockage in EVAP purge hoses or overfilled tank
  • Loose/damaged FTP sensor connector
  • Loss of ground to the sensor
hope this helps

Possible Solution

I got this same code on my 03 RSX Type s. I replaced the evap canister and the purge valve. I think it may be that the actual wires in the connector become damaged. Talking about the orange plug/connector that plugs into the evap canister. Will see what I can find.
