Oh NOES! Coolant leaking from... from... WTF is that thing?

Changed my oil and ATF tonight, while under the car noticed dried up coolant on everything and that my reservoir was dangerously low (uh-oh).

changed oil, changed ATF, tracked down what the heck was leaking but I don't know what the heck it is. it's a 2004 AT (just for ref.) and the leak point is immediately above the rear engine mount.

What is it, is it costly, can I fix it, you guys rock, thanks for the help!

I've never looked at the TL specifically but it looks like a heater control valve. It shuts off/turns on the water to the heater.

It should be as easy as removing the two hoses and the cable that moves it. Should be cheap.

HA! Beat me. I added an edit, thinking I had the orientation switched around.

will I need to drain the engine of coolant? are we sure it's #12? That would be tits, #12 is like 3 bucks. seems like there's no way anything on an acura could be 3 bucks...

I don't know what part it is for sure. Have your local dealer tell you to be sure.

Maybe I Hate Cars is more certain. If so, it's about a $17 part.

should I just clamp down the hose before and after the part and just replace it, or do I need to drain and refill the coolant?

Anyone know for sure which part it is?

Thanks guys!!!
