New Engine in my 2006 TL Need review please
Greetings:
I recently had my 2006 Acura TL that I have had for less than a month have the timing belt go out on it when the dealer said the maintenance was up to date. So I get a new engine put in, and the quote I get was $3000 for the new engine, thats $1,700 for the engine and $1,300 for labor. I find an engine online for $1,100 get it shipped over to the place repairing my vehicle no problems. I get a phone call saying that the car is done and I somehow now owe the place almost $500 for an exhaust manifold and a wiring harness? Because even though the engines were identical they stripped out the bolts on the previous wiring harness or something of the like. This seems a lot like they are trying to scam me, does this sound right to anybody else?
Thanks

It all started when the spark plug shot out of the ignition. Took it to this place, they did some rethreading and got it back in but gave it back with the check engine light on reporting the o2 sensor was having an issue. A day later I am at a stop sign and it stops and it doesnt start again. They tell me the timing belt went and I need a new engine. New engine later now they are saying I need to give them more money. Bastages...
Need more info. I don't know for sure - but $1,700 (or $1,100) sounds pretty cheap for a whole new engine. You sure you're not talking about replacing the heads?
Also - what are they charging you for, specifically? If you bought a "cheapo" used part off the internet, it's possible that's what's stripped.
