My VSA light came on...

Yesterday I was driving home from work and my VSA light came on with the check engine light while I was driving on the freeway. I then took a ramp to pull over and was at a stoplight and when I accelerated my car would barely move. I thought it was my transmission that crapped out on me. I turned off my car and started it again and the VSA light turned off but my check engine light was still on. I drove home fine and today I went to check the engine light and the code they got was P2138, APP sensor. Has anyone had an issue like this? The guy at autozone said that I could just take it out and clean it and they would fix the problem. My car is a 2004 with 130k miles. Thanks for the help!

if the code threw for the APP sensor, it's the APP sensor.
Acceleration Pedal Position Sensor.

if APP went bad, your car will go into limp mode.

replace APP sensor.

the contacts can get dirty inside. It would be worth it to take it apart and try to clean it first.
