My TL-S is dead ! Could use a hand..

Hi guys. So after a nice weekend of 4th of july partying I go to start up my TL-S and it wont start. There was barely enough power to even see dash light up. So I figured, no problem. I will just jump it and all will be well. Nope. I tried to jump it and it just clicks. Wont hold a charge. There is a light that comes up under the speedometer (underneath the ABS light) that looks like an upside down horseshoe with an exclamation point inside it. Anyone know what that is ?
My car has 32,000 miles---I looked at the battery--no real corrosion. I didnt leave any lights on--but its just dead. Any suggestions ?

Is the battery the factory acura one? It could have simply died because of the heat and as well the age. The acura factory batteries are NOT the best in the world and fail within a few years.

That symbol is the TPMS system and you have an error with it. Its possible that it malfunctioned and is drained the battery among other things such as the hands free system being stuck on. I suggest you get a new battery first and then check the draw on the battery with the car off. It should be a few miliamps (20 or so), anything in the 200 range is WAY to high.

The original battery i had on my TL lasted less than 32,000 miles. Did u notice any changes the way the car started after letting idle for a long time? ex. like a stuttering/rough kinda of start? if so, it was probably a sign that your battery is dying and not holding a charge anymore. If i were you, go to your local automotive store and have them test out the battery and alternator. In your case, it sounds like its time to replace the battery.

The same thing happened to me as well at exactly the same mileage and it was the battery. I was able to start the car though after a few attemts and the
Dealership replaced the battery free of charge.

The battery should be under warranty.

Similar story here too.

Dealer replaced the battery; no issues since. So far.

I had the same issue with my TL-S less than a year into owning it. Got Acura Roadside to send a trunk to jump it and got the car started and took it to the dealer where they swapped out the battery with a new one and everything was fine until I sold the car.

The factory batteries are really problematic since it seems to be a frequent occurrence for people to complain about the battery dying.

I had the battery on my 06 tsx replaced free under warranty. While getting the annual state inspection at a acura dealer they told me it tested low. I never had any problems with it. Oh well-it was free (4 yr. unlimited mileage warranty).

yep.

Sure enough it was the battery guys. They said it tested a little low but replaced it under warranty. Not the greatest batteries in these cars it seems.
