my tint
my tint
i just got 20% tint on my Tl type s now the guy who did my tint said that i needed to put mole skin he said that most acura's needed this or else the tint rubs off is he right or is he just after my money
Yeah when i got my tint done it cost a little more because of that but i'm glad the guy knew about it. At first i didn't really know what to think but i'm glad that i did get it done because nobody wants hairline scratches on your new tint.
good luck :-D

dont even bother using the mole skin..tell him to cut out the inner rubber seal..its cleaner, dont need to worry bout peeling, and will never scratch the tint..thats what i did and mines perfect..https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162566

No increase in road noise??

I would not cut out the wiper you will have increased noise without that seal, road and window motor etc. moleskin is a false sense of security, it will also trap debris and can contribut to scratching. the best and only way to prevent scratches are to keep the inside of your car and the windows clean with a high quality film you will not have any problems.
probably a stupid question
but what exactly is moleskin and do most window tint guys carry it? I am going to have my car done (if they fix the suspension at come point) but don't know what this is, or where you can get it for a 2007 TLS.
Thanks

There seem to be different types of this material and I *think* "Moleskin" is a trademark or brand name.
From what I gather Acura is one of the few (only?) major manufacturer that does not put a felt strip in conjunction with the plastic weather strip. I am sure you've seen these window felts on many other cars in where the window raises/lowers through the door.
Thanks
