Mirror moves on its own

Ok so I replaced my drivers side glass in the mirror due to excessive browning and now my mirror moves down like when in the reverse mode, every time I unlock the car. Anyone have any ideas?

Move the mirror selector on the adjustment button to the center position and your mirrors won't move. If it's moved to either side, the selected mirror will angle down when the car is in reverse so you can see the curb when you parking.

It's a convenience feature.

I'm aware of the ability to select which mirror will move when shifted into reverse, I use it frequently. My mirror moves on its own regardless of the position of the control button. I obviously did something when I changed out the glass, I don't know what I did.

not sure people will come in here and solve my problem but i would like to give it a try

I'm aware of the ability to select which mirror will move when shifted into reverse. but i want to know is there any button control both side mirrors to tilt when shifted into reverse instead of only one mirror.

Thanks

Change your key fob battery

Just a note from my experience, when my battery in my key fob got weak sometimes when i was walking to my car the car would unlock but the mirrors would start adjusting as if they got a bad signal from the remote? It was also shown but the HID not displaying "welcome driver one". I replaced the battery in the Fob and all has been well? My mirror selector has stayed in center position. I back into almost every parking spot but no curb parking for me so i just use the camera.

^that's good advice. Maybe coincidence that replacing the glass and battery in FOB dying.

to previous question, there is probably a set of wires you could connect together to get both to go down, but technically, there should only be one side you need at a time depending on which side you're backing in with.

The mirror might be not centered when you replaced the glass. Its going into the preset for driver 1 .. After its done its thing after you unlock the car take your thumb and push on the top of the mirror to get it close to where it should be then reset the mirror position for the Driver 1 etc.

We took our 2008 TL in for an oil change today and also told them we have noticed our driver side mirror has not been working properly. Sure enough, they checked it out and changed the acuator assembly, and now it works perfectly again. It was not a recalled item, but something similar, so it was no charge for them to fix it.
