Metal rod

Notice this when I had to stop due to the car not shifting to park. Also the car started to rev high and it went no where when I gave it some gas.

Sounds too good to be true, but hope it is. Are you certain that they are installing an OEM axle and not an aftermarket axle?

OEM price was 500ish with military discount

For only an extra $100, I'd go with the OEM....

If you keep the car another 3 years/ 45K miles, it's only $33/year...

Yea I'm thinking to go that route. The car has 145K miles and major problems except this unusual situation.

It's likely the other side isn't far behind. They corrode behind the rubber dampers.
