Hi everyone,

I don't know if anyone has had this problem. I recently got LED's for a conversion (map, courtesy, dome, vanity, trunk, license plate, glove box).

No matter what I do, both map light bulbs will not come out. I've tried using rubber gloves, using scotch tape for grip, even using pliers; I really don't want to smash the bulb. I've used a good amount of force....wiggling back and forth and pulling with constant pressure.

Any help guys? Thanks

I have large fingers, which doesn't help >_<

 

Had the same problem. Used a small strip of duct tape to wrap around bulb and just yanked it out.

 

It helps to wiggle them a little while pulling them as I remember. Those bulbs are pretty tough so use a little more force and you'll get them out. The upside is the LEDs are much easier to grip and replace when you get to that point in the future.

 

You can pop out the whole unit and pull out the lights facing up on a table instead of trying to pull it out overhead. Might get more leverage that way. I used tape and it came out using some force. Whatever you do, dont try to pry it out with a screwdriver or something similar. The bulb will crack! My buddy did that and passed on that bit of advice to me.

 

Duck tape. Stronger than scotch.
