Loud Road Noise from Rear

I have a 2004 TL 6 MT. I have a loud tire noise from 40 MPH+. The car is a drag to drive it's so noisy. I have switched wheels from front to back and it still makes noise so I tend to not think it's the wheel. I also got new tires too and had the brembos done. Any suggestions as it's louder than a pickup even with the radio on and windows up!! thanks!

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me. Did it make the noise with the old tires? And the same noise still sounds with the new tires?

Is it a grinding noise? A constant low hum/buzz ?

I have an 05 with the same problem. Took it to my dealer and suggested there may be a rear axle bearing problem causing the noise--they said cheap tires and sent me on my way. Several weeks later I look at he the rear passenger tire and it is completely bald on the inside 1/2 of the wheel. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks.

I've got the same problem, just haven't had time to take it in yet (04MT). If it is a wheel bearing, will that be covered under the warranty? Is it a good idea to repack the other side at the same time? How much should something like this cost if it's not covered under the warranty?

Thanks

Was it covered under warranty? Was it the left rear?

no my warranty is up, but it's right rear. I already replaced it at 43k due to hitting a curb. It'll be about 375 for part and labor. An independent mechanic quoted 550. The service advisor was surprised, but says he's seen them go out at 15k
