Lock Confirmation problem

Been like this for the longest time now, but never got around to caring enough until now..

Bought a used '06 TL awhile back, and never has it had the 'confirmation' beep when pressing the lock on the keyfob twice.

Yes - I've checked the MID to make sure that it's on 'on', and still nothing. Could i possibly have a broken beeper? Would it he hard to replace?

Or if any of you guys have better ideas... I checked the garage and nothing much, other than moving the beeper to where you can hear it louder. HOwever, i can't even hear it no matter how close i am to the car!

Did you link the remote to the car?
It's necessary to do that (so the MID reads "driver 1" or "driver 2" depending on fob) before the confirmation beep is available, IIRC.

When a mouse ate through my knock sensor wiring a while back, I looked through a knock sensor thread and someone had the same problem and it was because a mouse ate through his 'beeper' wire in the engine bay. I believe it's somewhere on the driver side.

Have you checked that all the doors are actually locking when you lock it from the fob? A while back, my sister's 04 TL stopped beeping when she locked it and we found out that the locking mechanism in her driver's door had broken somehow, so her door actually wasn't locking at all.

Fixed, and beeping again. I for some reason always press my lock button three times so it beeps twice. Why? I have no idea.

Anybody have an idea what else needs to be checked? I put this off for a while, but i wanna try to fix it now. The amber lights blink when I unlock, but won't blink when I lock. Nor will the car beep after hitting lock twice.

I first double checked that all the settings were correct on the MID. Then I listened to each activator individually for 'funny noises' while locking and unlocking, they all sound and work normal. I walked around the car and made sure all doors were locked when i hit lock. The security light doesn't flash..

What could it be?
