Leaky Sun Roof

I just took delivery of an 08 TL on May 31. I have an issue that dealer states they can't fix. (Read design flaw). Any how, parked the car at work nose down on a slight incline, we then get about 4 inches of rain through out the day and when it is time to go home the passenger floor board is soaked. Take to dealer on Monday, they clean the sun roof tube. Fast forward one week later same thing happens again. Go back to the dealer, say that there is nothing they can do. Only suggestion was don't park on a hill in a rain storm. Any suggestions?

Yes- I'd suggest you go to a different dealer's service department.

I have not heard of TL sunroof leaks being an issue except where the drain tubes were clogged. Do you know if the leak is from the sunroof?

G/L with this, and welcome to AZ.

Oh, and here is a short thread that mentions the source of every interior water leak problem I've seen on this forum: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ater+leak+seat

May want to have your A/C drain hose checked. I've heard of cases where this causes the water to leak into the passenger side flooring.

Make sure the drain tubes are properly connected. Sounds crazy, but I had a similar problem with my 1986 Legend about ten years ago when it rained almost every afternoon for about a month—some water fell on my head when I opened the moonroof shade. Turned out one of the drain tubes wasn't even connected for some reason. (I had bought the car used, and the previous owner used a mechanic whose competence I had reason to question, so who knows if he had screwed something up.)

Update

Hey all, we have been unindated with copius rain events. In one case we received 8 inches over a days time. I went back to the dealer a third time and in this case the car was sitting level. I think the seals are the current suspects in either the front or back doors on the passenger side.

Suggestion, park in that same spot and have someone hose the car, you sit inside and find the leak. Take the glovebox out if needed, along with some minor panels to help you find it. DIY's on this are all in the 3G garage.
