Leaking Lime Green Fluid
Leaking Lime Green Fluid
What fluid on a 2007 TL is bright lime green? I found a few dribbles on my garage floor this morning, along the centerline of the car. I don't use green coolant or wiper fluid, the coolant and wiper fluid I use is blue. Could it be from the A/C?
Sorry for the late response, thanks for your replies!
I checked under the radiator cap and the coolant is still blue, so the fluid might be from the A/C. The A/C turns on and doesn't make any strange noises, but it hasn't been working well at actually cooling since last summer. I didn't really think too much of it at the time because I hardly used my A/C at all to save gas as prices were extremely high. I made a DIY blacklight using an LED flashlight and 3 layers of tape colored with blue sharpie, but I haven't seen any florescence. I don't know if a homemade blacklight doesn't work or if water on the floor of my garage diluted the fluid too much.
I haven't seen any more fluid since the initial leak on the 4th. I should take it in anyway, or is it pointless unless it's actively leaking? The previous owner replaced the A/C compressor at 125,000 miles (161,000 now) at an Acura dealership, so it seems strange that the A/C would be failing.

Lollllll Either that, or it's an Alien... Although there isn't a hole in my garage floor... It was certainly bizarre finding neon green splatter under a car where no fluid has any known business being green.
I think I'll just get the A/C looked at next oil change if it doesn't leak again. It'll need an oil change soon anyway.

Having a refrigerant leak would explain why the A/C works seemingly normal except for being somewhat ineffective at cooling. Hard to test if it's gotten worse now in the winter, but at least it doesn't seem to be anything serious. Thanks!
Green oil is really an excellent tell on this car, since nothing else is green.
