Jack shifted, how bad is this damage? and can I fix it?
Sooo, I was jacking up my car and didn't have the usual 2x4 that I use under the jack - so I grabbed 2 sample pieces of hardwood flooring instead and stacked them on top of each other.
Half way through jacking up the car -- BOOM
The jack slips and coolant starts leaking out.
The 2 pieces of sample hard wood flooring slipped against each other and the jack shifted so it was sitting under the radiator...
This is the aftermath....

The rad being pushed up messed up these mounting holes too... I think I can bend these back...

So - I'll need to replace:
- the radiator,
- the hood (it bent up when the rad was pushed up)
- the piece of metal the rad was resting on took the most damage (pic 2 & 3)
So, is this piece replaceable? Can i fix it myself?
Is it time to start looking for a New type S?
Thanks for the help -- feeling like shit right now

Ill nevrr understand why people add wood on the jack..
Jacks are built to lift your car as is. If a block of wood was meant to be involved they'd sell you a piece of wood.
Any extra piece between the jack and car is seriously asking for trouble.
Two pieces even worse.
Again. Sorry about the loss and damages. Lesson learned.

I dont use a piece of wood, it does more harm than good. Not sure why anyone thinks this method is acceptable.
But as for what you can do now, pretty much just the things that you listed and maybe the condenser(replacing condenser would require recharging the AC), it'll be a couple hundred bucks if you DIY, but it'll also be a good lesson learned.
This reminds me of justnspace btw lol

i did the same.
my jack slipped and I punched a hole in the radiator.
if that's coolant leaking, you indeed punched a hole into the radiator, and will have to replace the radiator.
i found my radiator from a junk yard for 100 bucks.
also, rockauto sells brand new OEM denso radiators for 100 bucks.
Do not go to the stealership unless you want to get stolen from.
radiators are like 350 from stealer
In the link that guitar player provided, you can see where my jack hit the radiator support.
it looks like your support is fucked too.
you're gonna have to hammer down that support so that you can flushly sit the radiator in.

I use a small 2x4 that has indented perfectly to the head of the jack and is usually jammed into the pinch weld on the side of the car not slipping anywhere.......yet. I have never jacked my car up by the front support beam and do not intend to ever. I normally use the side points and just do each side to put the jack stands under.

Nice, Ill pick one up from Rock Auto
Is that support beam replaceable?
Even if I hammer it down so the rad sits ok, the beam itself is crushed so the plastic aero pieces on the bottom wont line up
I was thinking of checking out a junkyard for the piece, but I'm not sure if its even removable with bolts or welded to the car

Definitely not my proudest moment
An expensive lesson
^if you read my thread, i was embarrassed to tell what had happened.
but, in the end its a learning process.
my support beam was bowed up a little to where I could hammer it back down.
if yours isnt playing nice, then yes it is replaceable.

Crossmember Set, Fr. Bulkhead (Lower)
List Price: $187
Acura online store : 2007 tl front bulkhead - dashboard parts

I do use a small block when lifting from the side. Otherwise my jack would be too short....yeah I know buy a nicer jack...I don't work on my own car much anymore and my old jack has gotten me by for the past 20 years so far.

He's saying in case his car is too damaged so if he should be looking for another car.
Soo
I finally got around to taking the bumper off
The Ac condenser will need to be replaced too
I'm about to buy the new rad support
found it on amazon amazingly enough:
So 2 questions:
1.
Now, I've been reading and it seems some older Honda's have these parts spot welded on... I wasn't able to find any info on newer accord/ TLs ... so does anybody know if I'll be able to remove and replace it just just bolts alone?
...or am I going to have to drill out spot welds (if so.... I think Ill just hammer it back into place
2.
Also, my part is painted body colour, does this new part need to be painted as well (to avoid rust ..etc.. nobody is going to see it )

Never had one apart, but I would think it to be spot welded. As you have the bumper removed and part exposed, you should be able to determine the method. As far as painting, if it can't be seen from outside with the bumper on, I wouldn't have it painted.
Take a look on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market as yards have radiator, condenser, radiator support, and whatever else that might be needed.

Additionally, by being welded, the connection points are "firmer" as opposed to bolted connections. It adds structural integrity and rigidity to the car by doing so.
Jacking up the car and getting under a motor vehicle is dangerous work, dont fool your self about that and always practice the safest techniques. I would research safe jacking techniques on youtube and the internet.
No more using a wood block between the jack and the weight of the vehicle... the only time you would want to use a wood block is if you are lifting/supporting the motor to remove headers/etc.
Good news is the radiator is relatively easy to change!!
