I'm getting a new transmission!
When I bought my CPO Acura back in July. Car had 57,000 miles. On the test drive I noticed under wide open throttle the car would shift harshly under hard accleration. I told the sales advisor who was with me that it didn't seem normal. But his reply was, of course its normal, this car has to shift quickly to maintian its accelration. It still didn't seem right to me and I couldn't remember if my mothers 06 TL(sold) did it...I tried to reach her but she was at work so I figured I have warranty on the transmisson till 100,000 miles so everthing should be fine. About a couple weeks later I notice this whine from the transmisson that didn't seem normal to me. The car sounds like a wind up toy that increased with speed. I took the car on a trip and a couple times passing on a back road it still slammed into the cars so hard you'd think the car would have SMG from a M5 on its sharpest setting. Even one time I was pulling out of a road acclerating maybe 1/4 way throttle and the car shifted to 2nd halfway through the turn and chirped the tires. I test drove an 06 TL to be sure and it shifted smooth as silk.
I took the car to another Acura dealer to get a second opinion. They called me a couple days later and told me the transmisson needed to be replaced and Acura is covering it all free. Also they called enterpise rental car since they didn't have any loaners so I'm driving a 06 Hyundai Sonata until my car is ready.
Also they will be replacing my lights on my steering wheel for volume and cruise controls, after another Acura dealer told me they were suppose to work.
A++ for Acura of Dayton Service Department!

My TL is in the shop right now getting a new transmisson. It has 60k on it. The problem started at about 55k. I also had several interior light bulbs replaced before the 50k mark. Thank goodness that Evertime my car has been in the shop I have gotten an Acura for loaner.

Strange, my car has 63K on it now. My trunk button light works sometimes and my "VSA OFF" never works but thats the least of my concerns. Not Like I'm going to be switching off VSA to do a burnout. :ghey:
Oddly though our cars are both 04s, have around the same amount of miles and are both Silver.
