Horn access

Couple weeks ago I noticed my horn sounded weird, think the low horn is out. Question is can I get to it by just taking the passenger side wheel and plastic liner off? Please tell me I don't need to take the whole front bumper off?! I rather do this myself and not get bent over at the dealer for a stupid horn. I have never had a horn go out on any car I have owned!!

Yes you can access it through the passenger side wheel well. It helps to remove your wheel as well. Keep in mind when testing it that the mounting bracket acts as the ground. I was able to replace my low horn with a generic from ebay for $20.

Really? I took the wheel off and the wheel liner and could see both horns but there is no way I could fit a wrench, etc. in there to get the bolt off to replace it. I could put the socket on the bolt but thats it. I am not sure how you did it, but I didnt see a way without taking the bumper off, which is very frustrating!!!

I used a combination wrench as I didn't have enough clearance for a rachet and socket.

Do you remember what size that bolt is, i might get some wrenches and try that since you have done it successfully. Thanks!! I rather try and do it myself than have the dealer do it.

yea but when you live in an apt and dont have a good place to do it, etc. it makes it a lot more complicated!

Don't make it hard on yourself and remove the bumper cover. I replace both horns awhile back.

Make room. Park in the visitor section and take 2 spaces while working on it or ask a buddy to see if they will allow you to work at their house.
