Unhappy HID Blinking

I did a search on all the open thread but with no luck so here i go!!
about a week ago, i found out one of my HID won't shine; i thought it's time for me to change my light bulb. a few mins later that HID came alive again but the problem is that it won't stay on all the time, it's blinking!!
what's wrong with my HID??
can anyone help me out!!

btw i shipped my car to taiwan, so don't just tell me to go to the dealership and ask them to check for you...

hey what's going on hwchien???? long time since I've seen you posting around these parts... How are things in Taiwan???

Your problem is the D2S HID bulb that is on it's way out... Just get a pair of replacement D2S HID bulbs and replace them in your headlights... I know they must have a great price on them in Taiwan...

Good Luck!!!

it could also be the ballast for the HID, check the wires leading to the balast and make sure that no wires are cut or are shorting. If you do end up replacing the factory bulb, its 4100K, and there will be a color difference as one has color shifted to 5000k and the new one will shift after about 20-100 hours of use.

Always replace bulbs in pairs to match output

You have the death warning on the bulbs- should cost you a few bucks over there for xenon bulbs for both the lows and the highs!!

The other warning signal is pink light when you first turn them on- only noticed if you park towards a wall

shouldnt the HID bulb last at least 8 to 10 years? sounds like a factory defective bulb.

Its hours of use that determines lifespan- about 3000 depending on conditions- moisture in housing- road surface roughness and much more,
And even if not dead- they lose output/brightness on road surface with normal use, so new bulbs anytime after say.. about- 5-6 years would be right for average drivers.
Some use the headlights for safety in daylight- others drive a lot in the dark with horrible commutes- that adds hours of use- and is a great investment~

Winter is coming, expect a rash of 4 year old cars with battery failure threads and headlight out postings with darkness coming early soon
