Welcome to Acurazine.

Yes- your TL has a filler cap holder-- the little nylon ball on the cap goes into the slot on the filler door. See https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...el+door+holder

Honda/Acura could have made it more noticeable, as most attendants just drop it onto the side of the car thinking the cap doesn't fit onto the door. I'm amazed and impressed when one actually places it in the holder!

Well, just in case you couldn't figure it out, they put it in the owner's manual:

"Place the knob on the cap in the
notch on the fuel fill door."

You're kidding, right? I have yet to see an "attendant" use a cap holder REGARDLESS of how "noticeable" it is. If you don't want the thing dangling against your paint, you'll have to pump the fuel yourself.

Face it - YOU care about your car, THEY don't.

East Coasters correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it against the law out there to pump your own gas? A friend of mine was visiting New York and started to pump his own gas and almost got his head chewed off by the attendant. Out here in California, I can't remember the last time I saw a full service gas station.

You're partly right, but (I believe), mostly wrong.

New Jersey has state laws that prohibit anyone from pumping their own gas. I believe they are the only state that has such laws (at least, on the East Coast). There are, however, numerous states/cities/towns/municipalities that don't allow the use of the "locks" to allow you to walk away from the pump while it's in operation.
