Help! Incredibly Noob Interior LED Problem

Hi guys,

I recently bought a set of interior LED's from Amazon, since the reviews were good and it was pretty dang cheap. ($8.25!).

Came with (as seen on the sale page):
Map light (2 pieces)
Dome light (2 pieces)
Step/Courtesy light (2 pieces)
Trunk/Cargo area (1 piece)

So I install the dome lights into the rear, and the Step/Courtesy lights into the doors, and they actually look great, despite the price. Crisp, bright white.

BUT, then I try to install the Map lights into the front (the ones by the sunroof button) - these things are supposedly plug and play, but I end up blowing the fuse when I plug the LED in (tried twice, happened twice). Am I doing something wrong? Also, the terms "Map" and "Dome" are frustratingly vague. I'm assuming Map is the front and Dome is the back? And does this even matter / are the LED's not interchangeable?

If anyone knows what's wrong or has bought this cheap Amazon set before, help would be much appreciated

the dome is rear and map is front. they all use t10 sockets so it should all be the same, but I think maybe the LED could be defective thats why its blowing fuses, or maybe you are installing them with the lights in the ON position.

Ah got it, thanks. If they're all T10, then yea I guess it doesn't matter.

I had the lights off when installing. After close inspection it looks like one of the metal connectors on the LED that I was installing is extremely short. I can't imagine why this would cause a fuse to blow but that's the only peculiar thing I noticed.

I think I'll message the seller and ask for a replacement...

I'd say the LEDs are most likely defective, I got mine from Superbrightleds, did the whole interior with them and they're fine. With the exception of one of the map light LEDs flickering on occasion, but that's just a bad connection inside the LED itself, not where it connects to the socket. I'd say just order 2 LEDs from Superbrightleds, but the color probably won't match what you got from Amazon.
