Help! Burning smell coming from car.
I've been noticing a burning smell coming from the car whenever I drive it. I have a 07 TL-S 5AT. It's noticeable from inside the cabin, and when I get out of the car, I can smell it from the outside as well.
It seems like it's coming from the front of the car.
Do the brembos create a smell? Or maybe I should bring it in to the dealership to have it checked out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All new cars hve a burning smell when they're new... it's part of the break in.
My TL-S smelled pretty bad for the first month, now it's fine. Every now and then when I'm driving it hard, I'll get a whiff of something, but it's not bad. Just like my STI was, it took a few months before all the smells went away...

But seriously, open the hood and see if 1) oil cap is tight, 2) any oil is on the exhaust manifold or exhaust system 3) there are any wet surfaces on the engine or accessories. Engine oil smells, but burns off quickly if there isn't much.
Also check below the car and see if there is a plastic bag or something adhered to the exhaust/muffler system. If there is, scrape it off; it will take a while to burn off.
If you don't find any of these issues and are still discomfitted, bring the car to the dealership to have it confirm the smell is normal.

I have an '06 TL a few weeks ago I started getting the burning smell. It doesn't happen all the time, but I smell inside the cabin. The times i've noticed it, I was driving about 80mph.
I haven't smelled it recently, but if it comes back I plan on taking it to the dealership.

I had the smell for a while in my TL-S. I would smell it on the inside usually after some "spirited driving"
now it comes back every once and a while after i'm out really having some fun.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, it will go away.

I went to the dealer and they fixed the problem for me - the make-me-feel-stupid plastic bag problem. Sure enough, there is no burning smell anymore.
On the plus side, my dealer washed my car for me - AND no swirlies!!!!!!!!
