Unhappy Help~~!! 05 manual not taking gears!

saw some one post this up... but i think my car is doing something diff..

ok if maybe some one can help me out with my clutch / transmission? mine crapped out yesterday ;( i went in reverse in a parking garage... came to a stop went into first gear then it just wouldn't move!!!... makes a grinding sound now, not as i put it into gear, but when i release the clutch and step on the gas all it does is make a grinding sound and doesn't move at all in any gear!!!! ;( 05 6spd manual base

My initial impression is that your shift into first was not completed somehow. The fact that you indicated that your clutch is engaged, you hear grinding, and the car does not move would seem to indicate that this is the case.

Try second gear and see if the car moves. If it does, your clutch is working. If repeated attempts to move the car in first gear continue to fail and you are certain your shifter has completed the shift, then it is either a bent shifter fork or shifter linkage in need of adjustment. Worse case is broken dog teeth or a damaged blocker ring.

doens't move in any gear ... just makes that griding sound in all 7 gears ;(

Sounds like you stripped one of the axles or the transmission.

don't know if maybe i should be hoping thats all it is... but wouldn't that mean i stripped both axles? since the car is not moving ?

Only 1 axle broken or sheared will cause it. Get under there & look. Jack up one side at a time & try to turn a wheel witn trans. in gear.

axle it is driver side! putting it in tomorrow hopefully all that is wrong
