Headlight flickering and cutting out...
so the other night i was on the highway driving home and noticed my headlights flickering every so often...i didn't think much of it and thought it was from the bumps in the road...but then i wasn't going over any more bumps and they were still flickering....
so tonight i was driving home on a city street and they were flickering again...when i say flickering, i don't mean turning off and coming back on...it's like the high beams are trying to come on, but can't...so they just flicker for a 1/10 of a second...
so after i parked our car at our place, i kept the car running with the headlights on and noticed the passenger side headlight was out...so i tried the high beam, nothing...so both the low and high beams weren't coming on, though the parking light worked....i figured they had burnt out and would read how to replace them (by the way, we just bought this car 3 weeks ago...certified my ass)... so i went back out to the car about 15 minutes later after getting home and turned the headlights on just to make sure and what do ya know? they were working, including the high beams...so, i figure there's a fault somewhere in the headlight and am planning on taking it to the dealership this weekend, if not sooner....i searched around on here and haven't seen anything similar to this, so i'm curious if this has happened to anyone else on here...our TL is a 2004, we bought it as a certified car and everything has been working great, except for this now...any ideas or experiences, please let me know...i appreciate any input you can give, thanks...

Its the same bulb for low and high beams. High beams are activated by removing a shield that blocks part of the light allowing it to shine higher therefore further. Just a FYI.
are your headlights cleared?( judging by your avatar). if they are maybe when you took them apart u didnt put a connector on tight. Or maybe a wire broke and the power wire is touching ground at times. or maybe the ignitor is bad.

yeah, i read shortly after creating this topic that the low and high beams are the same bulb...
no, my headlights are not cleared -- i did that in photoshop...i did attempt to clear my headlights, but after removing the front bumper, i couldn't go any further...didn't trust myself enough...but it probably is just a loose connection or bad ignitor...thanks for ideas...

just to finish this topic, the whole problem was my inverter...took the car to the dealer and they put in a new inverter assembly, which was covered under warranty...works perfectly now...
