hands free link
hands free link
i recently discovered here that what was causing my battery to drain was a bad hands free link module.i unplugged it which solved the battery drain issue but now it says hands free link on my radio screen and wont go off plus my radio wont work now.any help on this?
very strange that the radio doesn't work I as well have my hfl module unplugged and don't have this problem, try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes and putting it back on maybe that'll help.
I've had this problem for years after disconnecting my HFL, and the only way I've solved it is by plugging my (working) HFL back in.
Edit: Just out of curiosity, is this all the time? Mine would only act up if it was raining, or had recently rained.

Thousands of people have HFL disconnected, including myself, without any problems with rest of the system. You guys did something wrong. You sure that it's completely unplugged? And that you unplugged the right thing?
Try to reset the radio by either taking battery cable off or taking the right fuse out.

I can't speak for the OP, but my HFL was completely unplugged, out of the car. I took out my radio fuse plenty of times and disconnected my battery as well plenty of times. Nothing ever fixed it other than plugging my HFL back in.
i figured out what the problem was. I left the module in but just had it unplugged, well the plug made its way back in the socket and i guess was touching the pins. I removed the module and that did it...radio screen cleared and working.
