Ground scratching noise in first gear after not starting car for a while
Hey all,
Just bought a used 04 NBP Tl, and i love it. But I recently realized when I don't start the car for over 5 hours, and I start in first gear, I get this scratch noise and feel on my accelerator and when i turn the steering wheel. It is really short, and goes away. It happens just one time right after I start the engine. Anyone have any ideas on what this could be? Im hoping it is not something serious.

Can you be more specific please?

When you turn the steering wheel the first time after you crank up the engine, especially on the concrete garage floor and you drove it over wet street before, the front tires are kind of sticking to the floor and you break the connection by turning the wheel. It sounds like scraping noise. If this is what you do after you start the engine. Other than that, someone else please chime in to help this person because I can't think of anything else.

hmmm, i dont think it is the wheel scraping when i turn. sounds more like a clutch issue, i can usually feel the scrape on my foot on the accelerator when i push it in first gear. It only happens when I am in first gear going very slowly.
i believe what you are feeling is like a little pulse. you can feel it in the pedal and the steering wheel. I think it's related to the ABS system. I'm pretty sure it's been discussed before, but i believe it's an ABS self test. If you search you should find some info on it. All in all, if what you're feeling is indeed the ABS Self Test i'm talking about, you need not worry. Hope this helps...
(please correct me if i'm wrong fellas)
