Grinding noise when turning and start the engine

I have a 2004 Acura Tl about 3 years now and recently started having issues with grinding sounds when making both left and right turns. Its pretty loud. I was wondering if anyone else has had or is having this issue. I dont know if it has something to do with the weather because after the car is running for a while I dont hear the noise that much.

Thanks for the feedback.

check your power steering fluid level.

Does the noise go away after the engine warms up?

Thanks csmeance. I will check the fluid tomorrow.

Smitty27. The noise is very loud when I first start the engine up then after driving around after the engine warms up you can hardly hear the noise.

when you speak of this "noise," is it more of a whine? sounds like the powering steering pump. it seems to be a common problem with all of our cars. go buy an o-ring and replace it. there's a diy in your 3g garage.

Sounds power steering related or rack and pinion. Growl, humm or whine - makes a difference.
I second the checking the steering fluid.
Could be the o-ring needs to be replaced on the pump per some TSP out there.

I've had the same problem. I took it to Acura and apparently there's a recall so they took care of it. You might want to do the same
