I believe my fuel pump is starting to weaken, looking for a replacement. Stock or Walbro 255 fuel pump for 2004 TL six speed with AEM v2 intake, ALTP J-Pipe, and ALTP base exhaust?

OEM, unless you plan on gaining HP.

Thank you! Nope this is as far as I will go. With all this traffic in the South Bay Area, additional HP will not help. Thanks again !!

What makes you think the pump is going bad? Have you replaced the relay yet? My car would randomly shut off when I was coming close to a stop/idle - 1 every 3 months or something. Replaced the relay, haven't had that issue happen again in 2 years. It's also much easier and cheaper to replace the relay than the pump.

my car can start, however I am getting P0171/ P0174. Running lean. Checked for vaccum leak, none. When the mechanic plug in the diagnostic, he said fuel pressure was low. No leak in the fuel line.

Could be either an issue with the o2 sensors. I'd still try replacing the fuel pump relay first rather than the whole pump itself, and then o2 sensors after that if still no improvement.

I just replaced the fuel pump assembly and drove 100 miles after install, so far no check engine light crossing my fingers though. I feel like this code has a lot of variation that it could be, so you could also be right.

I have also added a bottle of Chevron Tech Fuel Injector cleaner.

Do you guys have the part number or any reference material for replacing the relay? I'm having missfire issues at higher throttle usage, and I don't imagine it's the relay, but I'd still like to do my due diligence of research.

Hello I know this post was from over a year ago , however curious if replacing pump fixed your issue with lean conditions ?

I noticed lately that when I first start the car and drive, it has these weird hiccup hesitations at low RPM...seems to get better as it gets warmed up...and much better at higher rpm. Started thinking about it and at 247K miles...I have a feeling the fuel pump is getting tired and old. I would likely start with that over injectors as I am not getting any sort of misfires on any cylinder or anything.
