Fuel Pump/Alternator/Power Steering Pump issues

Hi all, so my 07 has been making some moaning and groaning noises when the engine is cold. My mechanic diagnosed it to be the alternator bearings so I brought it in and they had it rebuilt for me. While they had it I asked them to look into an intermittent power loss issue I have been having. Once in a while it bogs out at 4000 RPM under WOT, so they spent a couple hours and eventually under a road test with the diagnostics tool hooked up they managed to reproduce the problem, the fuel pressure was dropping from 35psi to 29psi and so they expect it is the fuel pump, $500 plus install, I'll have to do that soon. So I picked up the car and what do you know, same moaning and groaning, apparently not the alternator but the power steering pump. Needless to say not terribly happy about that........ So later on my way home I open it up a bit off a red light (toasted the 5.0L Mustang) and my check emissions and SHAWD errors come on the dash... SHAWD reset after I restarted the car but check emissions still on. Any comments or suggestonos would be appreciated. Thanks all, kp

im not too good at diagnosing from afar but if your fuel pump needs done do it yourself cheaper theres a nice write up in the diy and its easy to get to.

thanks Wrench and hypnotini, I looked for the DIY for the install but couldn't find it. Wrench does that drop in fuel pressure from 35 to 29psi sound like its the pump failing? just want to be sure before I order one. Thanks again, kp (check emissions and SHAWD errors seem to have disappeared....).

yes I am. hope this helps everyone out. chris is the guy in tech that I spoke to not mike (must have been a different company) and he is the one that put this together for us he gets the credit. all I did was buy a stock fuel pump assembly and he did the rest.

Yes, just lift up the rear seats. Pull back the carpet and it will be visible there, don't be fooled by what you think is two fuel pump covers, there is only one fuel pump. It may look like there is two, but there is only one. And it is the one on the driver side. All you need is a phillips screwdriver, pull it out and it should be plug N play.
