Factory sound system issue
Factory sound system issue
Hi everyone, first post here so excuse any improper posting etiquette. I have a 2007 TL Type S 6m and I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue to mine. When sitting still and just letting the car idle my factory sound system is fantastic, but when driving it isn't nearly as loud and there's practically no bass. Is this a setting on the car or is it a hardware issue? I've read about the amps on these cars going bad in other posts but I'm not sure if this could be amp related. Any advice or potential fixes would be greatly appreciated, seems like I've had nothing but issues in the couple months i've owned this car.
Thanks
I have svc turned off. Figured it would just stay at the same volume all the time. The only time i see lights dim is when I have my ac on. Not sure if thats normal for these cars.
If the sound quality is great when stopped, more than likely everything is fine. Volume and bass both tend to fade out into the background noise as speeds increase. This happens on pretty much any car out there.
If anything, the amp may be getting weaker with age. Although usually you should also notice that when at a stop. I can for sure tell my '05 doesn't have the same amount of bass as it had when I bought it 10 years ago....even when parked.

you could always invest in the Jesse Kelley modified amps which are supposed to be incredible. I went a different route and added a harmon pardon bluetooth adapter for music streaming, which coincidentally improved my sound by a lot as well! I swear by the product, and if it doesn't work for you, then returns are simple if you buy from Amazon.
Not sure but maybe it is your ANC system not working properly? It us supposed to drown out low frequencies by listening for road noise and emitting an opposite signal through the stereo.... Maybe try disabling the mics? I believe there are mocs in the front amd rear dome light areas but not sure exactly... My base TL doesn't have that feature.

I noticed the same thing last winter, I noticed my factory system had almost no bass.. And when I turned it up, I could go to "40" and it was not loud. But after the interior and stuff warmed up, the bass came back somewhat... It never did that before. Like thoiboisaid.. I think it is the amp. It's old.
