Facebook page for Transmission issues?

Hello everyone,

I have a 06 TL that got complete transmission failure at about 70k two weeks ago.

I have been trying to work with Acura Customer Relations dept since then. I wanted to see if they could help me with anything. In Canada, Acura gives 5 years or 100k for warranty. So my car is 11 months past the warranty date wise but still 30k under kilometer wise.

I have been very patience and understanding with my assigned "case manger". But he has informed me, Acura cant help me with anything and also informed me that this is not a common problem, and i should stop googling information because its not acurate.

He has been very rude and hard to deal with and when i requested to speak with a manger he has told me "our mangers are here to supervise us not deal with customers". He wont let me speak with anyone higher than him.

Twice when i have asked him to explain why i cant deal with anyone else, he puts me on hold and then tells me a manger will call me back in 48hrs. Which doesnt happen.

I was thinking, should we make a facebook page for people to write down there transmission issues in order to get some attention from Acura. Clearley they are ignoring this problem and keeping the issue quiet.

I dont expect Acura to help me with anything at this point but maybe we can help others make a more informed decision before buying their next car.

I had always thought Honda/Acura stood for reliability and didn't do too much research before buying an Acura. I thought 2006 at 58k should last me 3-4 easy. I was wrong!

Would people be interested in joing the facebook page if i created it?

Thanks for reading,
Paul

Not sure how much Canadian activism will press Acura to listen.

Are you including ALL of North America ...

My 06 just crapped out at 61k kilometers.....from your case, it seems like asking Acura to do anything for me is pretty pointless.....

It happened all of a sudden too, was driving fine till I went to pick someone up and then the gears would not engage at all, no D or R, but will very very rarely catch onto first gear if i'm lucky for about 5-10 seconds....

Luckily, on the way home, I figured that by driving at around 1-2000 rpm, the gears would stay intact but if I go anything higher or lower than that....then I'll be thrown back into neutral....

Automatic Transmission btw.....

I really need some opinions here as to what I can do to fix the issue....I'm still a student so I don't think I can shell out 5k to replace a tranny....
