Question F**K Me

I know that the idea of thread after thread of the same shit is a bit exhausting. However i need to get my Radio code for my 2004. I'm not asking for someone to post up that its in my manual or to check all these secret spots. All i want to know is does anyone know somewhere i can get it for free on long island. Or even a phone number to call someone to get it. Most dealerships want me to pay. One wanted $57.00. F that.

The stealership close to where i live doesnt charge to get the radio code as long as u can prove to them that its ur car (i.e insurance or some sort of bill of sale). I know i can also get my radio code for my accord from hondas owners link,so im sure u can get urs from acuras owners link (dont know the site).
OR u can press #1 and 6 at the same time on ur radio and ur radio serial # will come up,write it all down and call the dealership and give it to them cuz they usually dont say they're gonna charge if u got that. GL

What VTEC said, they'll ask for your radio code and possibly VIN # and it should be free. You can also call any Acura dealer in the country as some will try and charge you and some won't. You might also be able to register with Acura.com and retrieve it like I did.

You shouldn't have to pay for it. There are some good suggestions above.

Open your glovebox

Unless it's been removed, it should be on the sidepanel closest to the radio.

If you don't have the serial number of your radio, then it will take a tech some time to retrieve that serial number. So yes, they will charge you. $57 sounds like half an hour labor, which would be all it would take to do this and is probably the minimum standard labor charge..

On the other hand, you can retrieve the radio code yourself by reading in the 3G Garage and finding this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-frequently-asked-questions-52/radio-code-solution-here-3g-garage-i-091-a-469527/

After you get the code, do us all a favor and write it on a sticker somewhere and upload it to your account at myacura.com.

If you have to find the code, it's not too hard to do, but it is rather annoying. You have to take the navigation dvd player out and look underneath it. To do this, you can into your trunk, remove the "carpeting" covering it and then unscrew the dvd player and look underneath it. To remove the carpeting, just unscrew the black screws holding it to the vehicle. If you do not have navigation, the only serial number I know off is behind the radio, which is a nightmare to do.

I haven't tried this with my Acura dealer, but when I changed the battery on my Pilot and couldn't find my card, I called the dealer I bought it from and they had me step through a few button pressing/number trading steps and got me going. No hint of being charged.

When the battery on my wife's Pilot died I couldn't find the code. The card that was in my papers was not the code. I called the dealer and they told me the code is on a sticker on the side of the glove compartment. Opened it up and ther it was. So much for security! I looked on the TL and there is no sticker in that location but there may be one somewhere. Keep trying the dealers in your area.
