So I have a bad gasket between the third cat and the and the catback I went to advance.auto got a gasket. I have a xlr8 catback which is 2.5 inches. They couldn't find an exact fit but they found me a 2.7 inch gasket I just want to know will this work and will there be any drawbacks

Condensation was dripping from the area I said between the cat and catback so the obvious answer was the gasket

Yeah, anytime you're messing with the exhaust flange gaskets and going aftermarket or modding....
a bit of sealant really helps when putting things back together.

Well it already was a aftermarket gasket that xlr8 sent with their catback. And as.of today I drove a good distance levittown pa to Lincoln financial field aka the eagles stadium for the game. It's about 30 miles each way nd I checked it when I got there and when I got home and no leaks. It helps allot that is cold because you visually see leaks as vapor. But no leaks at all so I made the right choice using it
