Engine service check light is on....

Hi, all the TL owners. I am new to this community and i hope i can get some answer from you guys regarding the problem that I have. My dad just got a manual 06' TL yesterday from the dealership, and he tried to teach me how to drive that car yesterday. As all you guys know, stalling the engine is part of the learning process for beginners who don't know how to operate a manual vehicle, of course, i am one of them. after more than ?? times of stalling, i finally got the hand of it. however, today when i was practicing with my dad, the engine service light went on, and it won't turn off. I was wondering if that has to do with all the stalling that i done to the car, or i really need a engine service check. Please help me out, Thank You.

P.S.
  1. the car is a certified pre-owned car from Acura Dealership
  2. before the engine service light came on, when i stalled the car, other lights such as ABS, Brake, etc. lights were on too. however, when I turned off the car, and turned it back on, all the lights disappeared.

when you stall, the car stays in Ignition mode, which is basically everything powered on but the motor, which is what cause all the lights to be on at once.

Now, since you started the car back up, and the CEL is still on, you should probably go to Autozone and get a scan cause it could be a lot of things. Or you could just pull the ground off the battery and see it that clears it which I'm guessing it would... hth

Is it the check engine light "looks like an engine" or is it the service required reminder? If it is a certified preowned vehicle it most likely be under warranty so take it back to the dealership to have it looked at. Stalling the motor numerous times will not cause the check engine light to turn on. It is just a coincidence.

the CLUTCH

whats the mileage? the service schedule is in the owner book
You may be due on miles so that triggers a light

Drop by the dealer and ask them to see if it had oil service or major service before it was sold, or what it needs now
Report back here and we will straighten out what bs they gave you

did you fill up any time afterward...if you didn't click the gas cap enough times that can happen. I had the check engine light come on for me once...i cleared it and it never came back. You never know...stalling shouldn't have done anything bad though...especially on a bulletproof TL with 22K miles.

get the code read at the dealer, the car is still under warranty, or go to an autozone and get it done there ... i would prob do that as a first step and take whatever action is necessary from there
