Driver side window won't go up

My driver side window won't go back up but I can hear the motor running when I press the power window button to try and make it go up. Some feed back from fellow azine members will much be appreciated thanks

Actually... do you have tinted windows? I'll explain if you do.

Yup windows are tinted but I bought the car like that, when I tried to pull up the window manually it looks like the regulator dropped. So I don't know if it's broken or it wasn't bolted on properly but I could go deep in my investigation as it was raining outside

One day I was at hortons drive thru and as I was leaving, my window wouldn't go up either. Like you, the motor was working but the window wouldn't go up. I raced to the tint shop (-20 outside!) to pull the door panel apart and see what was going on and realized that some of the glue from the felt smeared on the window and was preventing the window from going up. Cleaned up the window and put the felt back in and it's been perfect ever since. Is your TL still under warranty?

I forgot you mentioned you could hear the motor running (therefore it's not the switch) before I asked this...it's just a lot of TLers don't know that if they hold the lock button down for 3-5 seconds, it will close all the windows and moon roof (if there was something wrong with the switch) and if you hold the unlock, it will open everything.

It's funny how mention the glue part. I did see something like glue or some grease on the window

The switch is fine but when I pulled up the window manually I think the regulator fell so do you think it's broken

I watched a YouTube video on how to take the panel doors off and pull out the window and the person used what appeared to be a 8 or 10mm socket to remove the regulator. So when I tried to remove the door panel I notice that I didn't have any bolts to unscrew

Does it go back up at ALL? Maybe a few inches then back down? Or doesn't go up at all?

My regulator broke also 2 months ago. I was driving and it sounded like something dropped inside the door panel. Tried to close the window, but it doesnt move and all I hear was the motor moving.

Got the regulator from ebay for $100 or so, then paid mechanic $50 to replace it. It looked pretty easy, if you wanna DIY this try to have someone hold the window in place while the other disconnect the regulator from the window to prevent it from dropping. Good luck!

Hopefully that rain didn't get you too wet. It was raining pretty good when leaving clarkson. Glad to see every thing worked out for you.
