Downshifted in 2nd gear, and stayed there

My car has been working in excellent condition, until yesterday. I was driving and suddenly it started downshifting pretty aggressively, until it held in 2nd gear! I drove it at 30mph up to the shop. The scanner showed codes 0747 and 0752, which are for two pressure solenoids. I put both of them in, it started working fine, but after 10 t0 15 minutes it started doing the same thing, and the same codes, 0747 and 0752 showed up again! Just before the problem, I installed the P2R spacer and washed the engine. I have washed the engine many time without any problem. I am just putting down everything I did before this problem showed up. We also changed the oil, and it looked perfect. The transmission was repaired completely at 94k and it has now 110k. It is obviously an electrical problem, as said by the shop. Has anyone had this problem, and if so, how has it been solved?? Appreciate any help regarding this problem!!

Check all of the connectors for the tranny---especially the one on the top near the ATF fill hole. Picture in this thread, post #31:

I'm not worried, but to be honest, most of the issues other say they have with their TL, show up somewhere down the line!

Guy's, thanks to all for your very important recommendations! Swoosh, I sent a PM to IHC and Innacurate, deffinitely waiting on their feedback! But all of the recommendation I have seen here also have weight on some of the other thing I have to consider and do! STEVEN05, I will take the APP sensor recommendation to the shop. DWB993, he did clean the two connectors of the solenoids that where changed, but deffinitely should check them all out, It may be as simple as that!! Again thanks to all of you for your help!!

Deffinitely will follow up. I just got that important PM I was waiting from IHC. He also recommends following the wirering from the two soleniods replaced, up to the harness as he say's there may be a pinched wire or something that may be affecting as a broken connection, among other things. He also recommends what you did swoosh, reseting the ECU, and will check the avi as rockstar also recommends! Damm, I am glad I posted the problem and that I have gotten so much positive responce back!! I am comfortable this problem should be solved by tommorow! Will keep everyone posted! Thanks again!!

Done every recommendation, even called the Acura dealer and they recommended the 3x3 oil change. If this does not work, it will be opened tomorrow!!

3x3 shouldn't solve this problem...at least it doesn't seem like it would, no? it has to be electrical!

Damm rockstar, I am frustrated. Believe me when I say the last thing I want is for them to open the damm tranny. But pretty much all the recommendations IHC and Innacurate have given have been done! I was thinking in taking it to an electromechanic, what do you think??

Ok guy's, here we go...5 clutches of the 3rd gear drum where shot. The parts of the clutch which came off, clogged the filters which eventually interrupted the oil pressure flow and created the jerking and gear change. With the oil pressure flow interrupted, the transmission eventually held into second gear and did'nt link into reverse either, as the clutches left a good amount of contamination. The rest of the transmission was in perfect condition. In addition to replacing the full 3rd gear clutches, my mechanic replaced the converter, inner and outer filter. Why the clutches failed...beats me!! In addition both pressure soleniods where replaced brand new, so I expect it to behave!! Thanks again to rockstar143, swoosh, STEVEN05, dwb993 and 9632tl for all you great recommendations and feedback!!

You know, I have learned, not only with Acura, but prior with BMW, that after the warrantee is gone, the least place I want to take it to is to the dealer, of course only if it is totally necessary! I have a mechanic who is an ex ACURA Technitian. He opened his own shop, and ever since my car broke the warrantee, he has been servicing my car, and very well done if I may add. Obviously we have a well established relation between customer and shop as I have been his customer very close of him opening the shop. More than anything it gave weight to him honoring the warrantee for the last job done to the tranny, which expired in March of this year. I have to consider myself fortunate!! I was at the shop a while ago dropping of the oil, and they where starting to put it back together and he said it should be ready by tomorrow. Still he said he will keep it until Friday as he want's to do some field test's before he returns it. He explained he does not know what happend with the clutches in this particular drum, as they where all installed new, and the rest of the tranny is in perfect condition. Maybe he believes these particular parts where deffective, and that's why he covered it. At the end of the day I am happy that the problem was identified and fixed!! Thanks again guys!!

I fried my parent's 2001 Odyssey transmission going up the 5 fwy past Six Flags this weekend. 2800 for a rebuild and a 2 year warranty. That's far more in cost than any manual clutch related fix.
