Door lock malfunction..

...sorry to flood the forum with issues

I have one other issue, when I get out of my car (while it's running) and close the door, the lock engages. I've tried messing with the settings and that does nothing.

A guy in our Acura group here in MN is an Acura mechanic and even he is stumped. Anyone else ever experienced this before? Is it the actuator in the door?

Thanks in advance.

All of the locks, or just the driver's door?

Maybe there are damaged contacts on the switch and when you close the door, they short circuit. It's important to know if it's the contacts on the actuator or on the lock/unlock button though.

However, I think our cars are programmed to not lock if the key is in the ignition. (Not sure how it works in AT vs MT). So if all the doors are being locked, then this system has failed. If it's just the drivers door, it's probably an intermittent short related to the actuator motor.

Pull that door panel off and see what's back there, it might be painfully obvious if something is damaged or loose. Good luck!

All doors. If I park with engine running an shut door, all locks go. If I am driving down road and hit door unlock, they stay unlocked.

It's weird

AT or MT?

This time, instead of getting out and closing the door. Open the door and actuate the door open sensor (the black nipple that the door presses when it closes). See if it locks then.....

Did what you said and the door sensor also makes the locks go down.

I think you should read up some on the MICU of these cars, it's like the brain for all of our power accessories.

The best kinds of problems to solve are the kind that are easily reproducible! Try the mirror switch thingy lol. Otherwise, I would probably start probing electrical signals to determine which one is not doing its job. I think that if a control module was defective, the problem would be intermittent and would likely be accompanied by other, weird, problems.

To add insult to injury, now the keychain clicker won't make the door locks close when I walk away from the car. It will unlock them (after I manually walk around the car to lock them) and it will pop the trunk.....it just won't lock them.

%$#@!^&%$

I have a 2005 Acura TL, I replaced the front passenger door actuator few like 3 months by disconnecting the battery to reset the "brain" to allow me to open the door.
Then just last night the same door went out, believed to to be same issue. So I attempted to reset the "brain" again and no luck this time wtf! After reading many many words of advice from other related topics I'm stuck!! I pealed back the top portion of the panel from inside the car to find out my door latch cable is broken. Using needle nose pliers I pulled on the cable to open the door.... No luck! Do I need to continue to rip off the door panel? .. Or should there be a way to open the door? I'm at wits end with Acura's, piss poor parts. Not to mention I still need to replace my clutch to my compressor for AC
