Do aftermarket shocks fix the clunking - 07 TLS

I still have the dreaded clunking suspension issue. Clearly Acura cannot fix it and it takes a lot away from an otherwise great car.

Thinking of going with the Tokico HTS. Has anyone changed shocks and does that help the clunking issue?

Thanks for your help.

I just had the same problem. The dealership couldn't figure out for the life of them what the sound was. They told me all kinds of BS (shocks, springs). Brought to my friend's aftermarket shop. It was the linkeage. $36 bucks for each side. Done. No more clunking.

Can you tell me what linkage specifically?

Thanks

Clunking in the rears? Most likely these are the culprit, try tigthening them. GL

Mine was actually in the front. Not the rear. You can always try. It would be a very inexpensive test.

If it's only an audible clunk, then check your swaybar endlinks (per above) and your swaybar bushings on the subframe. If the clunk can be felt as instability in the suspension, check your control arm bushings [upper (2) and lower (3..mainly compliance and shock absorber)] and balljoints. My LCA bushings were torn/cracked and would clunk over bumps, which I felt as looseness in the suspension.
