Dead Battery (Radio on While Cleaning Car)

Yo, can someone pleas tell me why my battery went dead while I was listening to the radio. I was outside cleaning my car the other day, took me 45 mins to an hour. So after I'm done I hopped in to move my car and it wouldn't start. This is my second day driving the car! My friend had to come over and give me a jump which I reluctantly did because I don't think its good for the engine. I figured the battery was dying but IDK. Can someone please explain. Has this happen to you?

Explanation: You depleted your battery.

I've found the TL will drain the shit out of a battery...VERY quickly...if the engine is not running and electronics are firing. The OE battery is crap, to boot.

Listening to the radio while washing a car is like ham and cheese, I can't image that I wouldn't be able to do this now. I've done it in every car I've ever washed.

Used battery? Batteries need to cycle. There really is nothing else to say except your battery went dead, may want to look into a boom box or ipod.

it has been shown that the newer cars out there, especially the ones with factory amplifiers, will drain the battery faster than the older ones. i have done this numerous times. Its not just the radio thats on, your factory amplifier comes on as well and helps drain the battery. heck, I have killed my battery by leaving the truck partially open for a weekend. and thats with a LED bulb. So imagine the radio and amp power draw, and if you play the music louder, it will drain faster.

Did it swell all up and pulsate? How do you know a battery almost exploded?

i left my passenger side belt buckle, buckled for a 6 day cruise to the bahamas and I guess it kept the sensor on for the airbag on and it drained it COMPLETELY by the time i got back...
THAT's how bad the OEM battery is.
