Cross-threaded Brembo Bleeder

So I went to bleed my brakes after slightly running out of Motul the last time and I noticed a small leak in the front drivers side top rear bleeder. It's a very small leak. Came to find out it's cross threaded.

Now I ordered two new bleeders just in case. Does anyone know what size the "bolt" of the bleeder is so I can go grab a tap for it? Is it just a 10mm? M10x1.0?

Any tips and or hints?

ha ha...
dude, what did you end up stripping...the threads on the bleeder screw, or the threading on the caliper itself?!

^I assume the threads on the caliper as, like I told you today, the calipers are very very soft.

I bought two new bleeders just in case it actually is the bleeder itself.

don't be getting a "tone" with me, boy...was just trying to help you mentally troubleshoot it is all...

I would be doubly safe and order a cheap titanium tap and die set from amazon and be ready to retap...or, why not just pull the current bleeder out now and check the threads!?!? Mabye you can just carefully rethread and throw a little silicone on it to prevent any seepage.

The brembo caliper is aluminum, its probably the caliper side threads that are damaged. Your chances are slim, as far as chasing the aluminum caliper threads successfully.

Centric specs out the bleeder size in this post.

I bled my brakes two weeks ago and a few days ago I noticed a bit of fluid at the base of the bleeder screw also. I plan to try some teflon tape...

^Too far obviously.

With how bleeders work I think if I retap it and can get it to screw all the way in, even if the threads are iffy, it will still work. You know..the seat and all.

I'll try teflon as a last resort.

in my experience when you bleed, some fluid will come out around the threads. This is normal. It's also normal for it to "weep" the residual fluid inside the bleeder once you close it up.

Just got to make sure you rinse it off well when you're done otherwise you'll have a streak of bubbled paint down your caliper. Happened to me and a few others. But after that's all done weeping it's all dry.

^Oh it's beyond that for the caliper paint. That's why I need to take care of this before I repaint them. Lol

I will. I don't have a place to word other then at my Moms house. And that, I'm afraid, has/is a planned event.

Once I get a house my modding will go up three fold. As will my paints bling.

Ditto! Drivers outside bleeder too. BOOOOOOO!

And I even washed the shit out of the bleeders when I was done. Twice even cause I saw a little more fluid on that one after. Remember, the hollow bleeder itself is still full of brake fluid when you put the cap back on.
