Creaking Noises With My TL? Due To Windows?

Hi,

I have seen one other thread on creaking noises and it appears it has to do with the plastic / rubber strips around the windows?

i roll down the windows a bit and it seems to reduce the creaking and i also open my moonroof to stop it.

This is rather annoying.

I don't know if it is because of my A-spec suspension but it started about 6 months after i got A-Spec put on.

I also have tint on the windows.

Any remedies or TSB's to this problem? The TSB i've seen was for the b-pillars or something for the door.

Thanks for all your help.

I have an 06 TL.

I have an 05 TL and my windows squeak when i roll them down. the driver side is especially bad and squeaks evertime it is rolled half way down and i drive over a bump in the road. it's really annoying. i have asked the dealership to lube it everytime i go in since i bought it, but it hasn't made a difference. anyone got any suggestions...i don't know much about cars and don't really know where to lubricate them myself or even which type of lube (oil?) to use.

I also have tinted windows on my TL (just done 2 weeks ago) and I have noticed rattling in the doors and some noisy roll downs. I bought some dynamat and will be taking the doors apart this weekend to see if I can remedy it but I may need to oil the solenoids as well as tightening up the door cards. Quite a few TL owners have mentioned similar issues once they tint the windows. Such a fragile car...I tell ya.

is it oil used to stop the squeaking? Would replacing the seals help?

Check out the February '08 acura service bulletin;

I wonder if this would be covered under warranty? I think it should be.

+1 This is absolutely the best advice.

I use silicone spray. Don't spray onto the car but rather on a rag and wipe down the 2 door gaskets. While you're at it do all the door and trunk gaskets. Then apply to q-tips and do all the window channels. You need to get under them for this to work best and the q-tip is perfect for that. I find the creaking comes most from where the seals meat the door surfaces, not where the glass meets the seals.

Thanks for the info, i think i found out what my problem is through the posted info on the ACURA Service News page 3 titled "Noisy Power Window Motor? Replace the Regulator". Only thing is that I complained while it was under warranty and they never did this. Will they cover it now that it is no longer under warranty ?? I think on my service records it shows a complaint about this problem. Any ideas??

Just wanted to mention thanks to whoever puts the service bulletins up, I found another problem i have regarding a faded dashboard (blotches) and now I know how to fix it! Thanks again.

Guys, my car's front windows are making all kinds of noises. The fix that has to do with cleaning of door seals will take care of ticking noises etc but won't solve the actual glass window rattling inside the housing. It is driving me up the wall, and local dealership can't figure out what to do.

Driving on hwy the window seems like rattling somewhere in the door panel, and if I press my elbow against it, the noise dissapears. Has anyone had this and how did you solve it?

are you sure its the "window"? i have rattles caused between the trim pieces in each of the front doors, i used some felt strips between them to help. if not then just disregard my suggestion...

Some of the posters here had a similar problem which was caused by the door mirror housing.

IDK if "search" works very well now, but there should be several threads on the mirror housing rattle problem. The 3G Garage has a bunch of rattle threads listed there under "interior," section F IIRC.

Will Y thanks- I'll bring this up to my service advisor.

blkaspec I am only human and can be wrong but it is not the kind of plastic to plastic rattle but rather glass to plastic or even a metal.

Has anyone had the above repair done in reference to the noisy weatherstripping? If so, was it covered, or did they charge for it?
Thanks!

Window creaking fix IS covered by warranty. I'm at the dealership getting this done as we speak. Will post up the results. If you wanted to get the tape and grease yourself (say, non-warranty) it's like 70 bucks for a big roll of this special tape and 20 for the grease. pricy. I would look elsewere, if this was the case.

I had the anti-squeek fix done about 3 weeks ago. Trust me, before I read the post that lead to this fix, my car was in every couple months chasing the rattles in the door panels. Too perfect of a seal is the way one poster described it. It's covered under warranty but know what you're talking about and be ready to describe the fix, maybe even take the bulletin in because the first time I asked for the service the tech had no idea what I was talking about.

It works, now the only rattle I have left in the morning is the rear deck...

YUP! I took a copy to my service advisor when I scheduled the appointment. then, when I went in on Sat, I left the copy on the passenger seat. So far, squeaks and creaks are drastically reduced, but it still makes the noise on the big chassi twisters (like pulling outta steep driveways at an angle, and going over speedbumps sideways, etc). Not a big deal, since it doesn't happen as often. Plus the dealer didnt have any of the pipe cleaners, so the grease isn't well spread out yet. I put in on my to-do list. I think the door rattles some of you guys are getting are a seperate issue. This fix is just for the creaking from the weather stripping.

I took my car in explained the problem three times but they said all they could do was oil the seals. I guess they knew my warrantee was about to run out and didn't want to fix it.

That's customer service for ya! Dude, print the service bulletin from above and get it done before the warranty expires. If you get any guff, talk to the service manager.

man, all you can do is keep taking it back. pain in the butt, but eventually they fix the rattle or you get almost the entire interior replace. personally didn't want them touching the rear deck. would have been a repeat gripe with more damage than good.
