Continuous clicking on forward acceleration

Hello,

can anyone see if they ran across the same issue and annoying clicking I’m dealing with. My car makes the same continuous clicking/ticking noise while driving forward. Doesn’t seem to make the noise in reverse.

just got back from the shop for some unrelated noises but the mechanic said it sounds like the clicks are coming from the transmission. Anyone else have or had this issue? Adding videos once I get on the laptop

04 TL 6MT precat deletes and rv6 jpipe
video links.

Odds-on bet it is the CV Joints on your axles.

that’s what I told him but he insisted it was coming from the transmission. So just a little curious if anyone had the same thing. Or if a clicking from the trans was a thing.

I have a 6MT as well and it is perfectly quiet.

thanks for the input. I’m leaning more towards the axel. Just freaked me out when he said it was coming from the mission

Axles go into the transmission.

You could do some incremental testing by seeing if the noise is there while rolling down the road and in neutral (eliminate transmission). While driving, lightly step on the brake to see if it makes the noise louder or quieter (brings brakes in or out of equation) Bad or failing CV joints typically make a loud clicking noise when starting from a stop with the wheels turned off center.

Just some thoughts

thanks, makes sense. I think the noise continues while rolling in neutral but I’ll double check
