Constant front and back jerk in 2nd gear (Manual trans|

Ugh, so this is starting to piss me off,

Everytime I'm in 2nd gear more-so then any other, my car is constantly jerking back and forth, it almost reminds me of being in first gear.

Another instance in which maybe relevant, I feel like a rookie again shifting my car, from first to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, it's odd. It's like I'm grabbing the clutch too long but all my other gears are fine.

also, there is clicking coming from the right front end, but it's only when driving straight.

Is low throttle input in 3rd and 4th herky jerky as well? Drive through the neighborhoods at 25MPH in 3rd or 4th and see if it herky jerky.

Be smoother with the accelerator pedal. I only get that in 1st gear with air con on.

^ agree. That plus an A/C that's low on refrigerant could be easily causing it since the compressor cycles on and off so much.

This is where I was going with my questions about testing through the neighborhoods. Mine was a bitch to drive at slow speeds when my APP sensor was failing. It drove fine above 40mph, but taking off or through the neighborhoods, it bucked all over the place.

Thank you all so much.

And this to the most. After 4th gear, it tends to lighten up and I don't notice the jerk motion as much.

My CEL was on for this, however it went back off one day. However that jerking motion stayed true.

Any idea on the clicking, only driving straight though?

Clicking...sounds like brakes or CV.

The jerking...drive at 30mph in 2nd and if it jerks a bunch...then engage cruise...if it is smooth...it is your APP sensor. That was how I tested my APP sensor theory before replacing mine. There are a couple of other detailed threads on this from a few years ago on the various methods us Internet mechanics devised to test the APP sensor. Search my username and APP and you will eventually find them.

You also mentioned a CEL...get your codes pulled. That should be the first place to start before doing anything else.

Once the APP gets really bad it'll start throwing a CEL then throw the car in limp turning your dashboard into a nice christmas tree
