clutch gone....
So after a dissapointing day at the track, the first run I have ever done with this car was just slipping from the line....eased off and smell the clutch back in the pits.
I took it easy on the next few runs but at high rpm shifting, it seems like the clutch is not grabbing and is slowly engaging into the next gear. Doesn't feel like its accelerating like it should.
Is it the clutch?
Is the clutch the same as an accord v6 6spd one?
I searched and it seems like the oem clutch is the best.

The gradual engagement is a function of a check valve in the slave cylinder.

You don't say what year/model you have but Clutchmasters is finally selling 3G clutches with LW flywheel. Not cheap though
Our clutch has a two piece flywheel along with the check valve to help protect the tranny. It's not designed for performance.

The problems people were having was because SPEC was issuing pressure plates that didn't work with the clutch. They checked my stock plate at their factory (any trans place can do it) and it was perfect so they gave me a Stage 2+. I've put over 10k on the new one, and while most are easy miles, it has been on the track a few times and I've created some smoke for fun. It's as solid as the day I got it. I did remove the slave cylinder check valve at the time of installation.
My car is bone stock and I plan on leaving it that way. If I do end up modding this, it will be Intake and exhaust at the most. I bought this car as a DD and I have my fully built prelude as a real track car.
So are you guys saying that my clutch is fine? But its that check valve that burnt the shit out of my clutch? It was burnt real bad after that run. I tried to launch the car with VSA off at about 3000 and it just slipped like no tomorrow. Next 2 runs were with VSA on and rolling off the line with 2.7 60' times. On the last run, I had VSA off and did a 2.4 60' and still babying it off the line and the shifts felt like shit! So my clutch is fine or not?

The check valve prevents hard clutch engagement because the friction disk has no torque dissipation springs aligned around the hub. In other words, it is a solid disk. The flywheel is a dual mass unit and the pressure plate is self-adjusting. All of these "features" tend to work against hard engagements for the purpose of relieving trauma to the rest of the drive train. Remember... it is a front wheel drive so it does not have the inherent strength of a RWD car.
If your clutch was slipping like crazy at launch, it has probably suffered wear from your efforts and there is likely to be some scoring of the pressure plate and/or flywheel. With this car, you are never going to get a "hard" shift after launch because of the check valve. If the clutch is good, you'll spin the tires a little in second and third with the VSA off (my '04 will do this).
Drive the car normally and see if you detect slippage (I imagine you know what to look for here). If all is well under normal circumstances, then let it live out its life until it's time to replace it. If, on the other hand, you are of a mind to take it to the strip from time to time, an after market clutch is probably going to serve you better - with the check valve removed, of course.

This car is bone stock and still on the OEM tires.
I won't be taking this car to the track too often. I just want to run the magazine times but it seemed quite difficult with the clutch being like this. First time i'v driven THIS car so hard. Best of 14.7 @ 94mph.
I read that thread about removing the check valve, so I might just do that.
