Angry Clunking sound coming from engine

Hello fellow Tlers..

I have an 05 TL with about 23K miles on it. I noticed recently that my engine made this clunking sound after running it from my house to work and vice versa. I let it warm up for about 3-5 minutes before driving off. Its also really cold in my area, so i was wondering if this is the weather or if there's something wrong with my car?? any info would be appreciated.. THanks!!

Well if there's a clunking noise when you first take off, then it's just the ABS brake test that the car performs within I believe the first 200 feet. I have no idea why there is a clunking noise at idle however.

It makes this sound after i have driven the car for about 20 miles and park it. it just sits there idle and make that sound. it seems to be coming from the passenger side tire area.. i called the dealer and they service rep told me it was normal in cold weather, but i never noticed that before.. so i don't know.. what do you think??

Could it be the AC compressor engaging/disengaging ? Yes, I know that you do not have your AC on because it is cold outside. But, the compressor will still run under many circumstances even when you have the heater on.

is it a constant clunking noise? does it get faster with engine rpm's? Also does it do this when you stat the car as well or is it just after driving? Did you get an oil change or timing belt sevice done ecently?

its a constant clunking sound but it doesn't appear when i first start the car. It only appears after i drove the car some distance (about 5 miles or more).. the pitch of the sound is the same, but i can only hear it with the car in park.. you can hardly hear it when the engine is running. it comes from the front passenfer area of the engine and i called the dealer and a rep told me it was normal in cold weaher, but i called another rep at another dealer and they asked me to bring in the car. So, on tuesday, i will bring it to service and post the outcome. Thanks for all your help TLers...

actually i've gotten a B service performed on my car about 2 months ago. so it was the oil change and others.. would that have something to do with it?
