This cloud had a literal silver lining
For those who followed the saga of the 2008 MRP my son totaled back in January here:

I went on the hunt for another 07 or 08 TL. I first found a mint 2008 MRP with the tan interior (which I prefer) with just under 90K miles. It was in SC, but I spoke with the seller, negotiated it to $8,500, and then I was gonna pay about $1,200 to have it shipped to AZ. But then his wife found out about the price (it was her car) and flipped her lid. Thought we'd figure it out, but then someone local made a full price offer of $9,700, so I can't blame him for selling it.
About a week later I found a 2008 ASM with only 43K miles on it at a dealership in PA for only $8,700. Called the dealer right away and he said his phone had been blowing up all morning. It was a gamble, but he said it had been a FL car that he'd had shipped to PA. Pics looked really good, did multiple VIN online searches, and had a friend pull a Carfax.. Cracked dash, but original vented seat panels weren't torn at all and don't think anyone ever sat in the back seat. Put down a deposit and the dealer hooked me up directly with a shipper so I didn't have to pay a broker.
There's a bit more to the story, but it was delivered about a week later and it looked better in person than the dealer pics. Took it out for a photo shoot, so check out "Racha Plateada" (Silver Streak) who is the replacement for "Rojo Fuego" (Red Fire). My kids nickname my TL's!
