My first cure for anything injection related is to run a can of Seafoam direct into manifold vac line and some in the gas tank. The manifold trick cleans valves and pistons- thru the tank method cleans the injector sprayers
If you have dirty carbon buildup anywhere- that will cure it

Its like getting the $99 fuel system cleaning for 8 bucks

see gen2 thread Seafoamed the ol TL for full details on this 30 minute DIY project

Aye, possibly a dirty injector or otherwise clogged component in the fuel system, or faulty sensor. Are you putting good 91 octane in your car?

Ha ha ha, Thats funny! You can bet it will come back, it may take a couple of weeks but it will come back.

It could be a vacuum leak, a bad air fuel ratio sensor, dirty injectors. There are quiet a few things that can cause that code. Your code it saying that the problem is on the front side of the engine.

The engine in the tl has cylinders 123 on the back near the fire wall that is bank 1. cylinders 456 are on the front near the radiator and that is bank 2 . Your code is saying the front side of the motor is running lean.

have that checked. you can never be too safe.

engine running lean + heavy load = BOOM.

Err yeah, best to just take it to the dealer. I'd bet odds are 90% that whatever is wrong will be covered under warranty.

Yes, yes it will. Put the stock intake back in there before you take it to the dealer and don't mention anything about your CAI. If they even suspect that the CAI is the source of the problem, they won't do any warranty work and may even charge you for the diagnostics.

Well if you were really low on fuel that could set this DTC, the O2 sensor just detected that your car was running a little lean and not stoichiometric. If the DTC comes back after it is erased then it could be a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator depending on the fuel pressure!

This is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Running your car low on fuel would never cause this code. if you were that low on fuel the car wouldn't run at all or run very poorly. You would be more likely to end up with a po300 if you ran your car that low on fuel. ( p0300 is a random mulitple misfire)

yes it could be a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator but that is Highly unlikely. It is VERY VERY rare for a Honda to have a fuel delivery problem.

You need to put the a stock intake on and take to the dealer for a warranty repair. I would even be willing to bet money that your problem is related to the cold air intake. Please let us know how it turns out.

ps the TL runs air fuel ratio sensors not O2 sensors.

OK here is the tecnical explanation for the dtc p0174, it is set when the ECM/PCM detects the oxygen content in the exhaust gas from the front AIR/FUEL ratio sensor (B1,S2) signal voltage, and it performs fuel feedback control to maintain the optimal air/fuel ratio. The air/fuel ratio coefficient for correcting the amount of injected fuel is the short term fuel trim. The ecm/pcm varies short term fuel trim continuously to keep the air/fuel ratio close to the stoichiometric ratio for all driving conditions. Long term fuel trim is computed from short term fuel trim and is used to regulate long term deviation from the stoichiometric air/fuel ratio. So long term fuel trim is stored in the pcm memory and is used to determine when fuel metering components malfuction. So when long term fual trim is higher than normal, which is like 1.0 or 0%, the amount of injected fuel must be increased, and when lower than normal, it must be decreased. If the long term fuel trim is higher than normal or too lean, a malfunction in the fuel metering components is detected and the dtc is set, and this is how you get the dtc p0174.

And now to think of it where there any other dtc's besides this one, becuase some other dtc's can cause p0174 to be set also!
